The Ultimate Aviator Chair
Crafted by Plane Industries from the engine cowling of a Boeing 737, this impressive chair effortlessly rotates on a sleek, polished aluminum base. Positioned in its original orientation, this captivating piece epitomizes luxury seating. The chair's grand scale, with its high-gloss, flawless shell and dark, premium fabric interior, beautifully showcases the hand-polished cowling. This extraordinary piece of aviation art by Plane Industries is sure to be the centerpiece of any room.
The Ordering Experience
The Cowling Chair is a handmade, highly customizable product, allowing you to choose from a variety of colors and fabrics. Plane Industries primarily takes orders through their website, with a production time of approximately three months. However, the current website makes it difficult to visualize your custom selections. To address this, the plan is to develop an interactive experience where you can see your chosen options in real-time before placing your order.
Recreating the masterpiece
To effectively showcase the chair, I created a detailed 3D model of the product. This process involved polygon modeling, texturing, and ultimately importing the 3D assets into Unreal Engine. The goal is to create a real-time experience, allowing users to explore the product interactively on the web.
Aviation Inspired Design
Built on a design system that resembles the aviation design language, yet is scalable and fun to use.
Touch Driven Spatial Design
Spatial design should be more accessible and easier to use without the need for specific hardware, regardless of the user's technical background. This involves visualizing 3D objects through intuitive interactions that resemble real-world physical experiences.
